Southerndown beach also known as Dunraven Bay, is mostly a sandy beach with rocky areas that are exposed during high tide. The beach is located along the stunning Glamorgan Heritage Coast with rolling country side and amazing cliffs.
The beach is popular for swimmers and waterports including surfing and canoeing.
The surroundings rocks are overflowing with fossils making the beach popular with fossil hunters.
The Glamorgan Heritage Coast is 14 miles of beautiful natural coastline and stunning scenery.
Open to groups by appointment only, the Glamorgan Heritage Coast Centre is perfect for those looking to learn more about the heritage coast including the geology and unique fauna along with the history of Dunraven Park.
We recommend the Three Golden Cups Pub, home to the proper pie and Frolics international restaurant.
There are a number of local hotel and self-catering options available.
In addition to Southerndown beach there are a number of beaches worth visiting including Monknash and Ogmore.
