Porthishead beach, is on the north Somerset coast within the Severn Estuary, just five miles from Bristol. Sugar Loaf beach is probably the best beach backed by the Portishead Sailing Club. You also have Black Nore beach, which has a lighthouse and the main beach (Woodhill Bay) which lies further north east which has seafront parking.
Portihead town has both a marina and Portishead’s Open Air Pool.
Sitting on Portishead seafront, the Portishead Open Air Pool is an outdoor swimming pool which is heated throughout the summer season from April to September.
There are a number of local food and drink options including Café Lido and the Windmill Inn pub.
There are a number of local hotels and self catering places to stay.

Blue Anchor Bay is a long sandy beach with alabaster rocks; great for finding fossils.
Burnham-on-Sea Beach is mainly a sandy beach with its famous pier just a few short steps away with a selection of shops and cafes nearby. Dogs are banned from this beach all year round.
Minehead beach, also known as The Strand, is a wide expanse of sand and shingle with a variety of rock pools.
