The beach at Holkham is one of the most unspoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the whole of the UK. Just behind the shoreline lies a semi-circular basin which at high tides fills to form a stunning shallow lagoon.
Holkham National Nature Reserve stretches from Burnham Norton to Blakeney and covers over 3,700 hectares. Access to most of the area is possible by following footpaths from the main car parks.
Holkham Hall is a stately 18th-century country house located next to the village of Holkham, Norfolk, England. There are number of things to do on the estate including cycling and boat hire.

In addition to the courtyard gift shop Holkham village is home to a number of independent boutiques including country wear by outdoor clothing.
The Courtyard Café in Holkham Park is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee, light lunch or afternoon tea.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat and stay then The Victoria Inn is ideally situated just a few minutes’ walk from Holkham beach. The menu is dedicated to quality local ingredients including samphire from the Norfolk coast and beef sourced from the estate itself.
The north Norfolk coast is an ideal place for holidays with a number of stunning local beaches and villages and towns to explore. Accommodation options range of traditional hotels to self catering and caravan parks.
Booking.comJust a short drive from Holkham is Wells Next the Sea Beach which has stunning sea views coupled with a working harbour that is great for crabbing.
This blog was inspired from my time growing up on the North Norfolk coast and you will find written content on several Norfolk beaches including Hunstanton beach and Heacham beach. It will always have a special place in my heart.
If parking at Lady Anne Drive, it is around a mile to the beach,
Dogs are welcome on the beach and in the pine woods but should be kept under close control or on a lead.
There is a parking charge of £5 in Holkham Park. You do not need to pre-book.
Parking for the beach is along Lady Anne Drive which is just off the main A149 coastal road opposite the entrance to Holkham village.
There are toilet facilities close to the beach
The move 'The Duchess' starring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes was filmed at Holkham in 2007.
