Newton Haven, about 9 miles from Alnwick, is a large sand and rocky beach that is part of the Northumberland Coast Area of ONS Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The beach is in a sheltered bay which makes it popular for swimming, for water sports such as surfing and windsurfing.
Most of northumberland dog friendly including the beaches, shops, cafes and pubs as well as many of the holiday cottages.
Bamburgh Castle beach is a perfect place to go for long walks all time of year. The sand is perfect for building sandcastles and playing beach and search games. However it is of course the stunning castle that makes this beach well worth visting.
Alnmouth beach is worth going for its stunning natural beauty and golden sandy beaches.
