About Me
Welcome to my blog on British beaches. When I am not working, I spend my down time visiting and exploring some of Britain's finest beaches.

Morecambe beach and town is a classic seaside resort with arcades, shops, fish & chip resturants and ice cream parlours all found along the sea front.
The beach is mainly sandy and unsurprisingly is very popular during the summer months. It is worth noting that there is no local lifeguard cover and the beach has a number of hazards to be aware of including quicksand and very fast tides.
The seafront promenade has a selection of art installations and interesting games and puzzles for children to enjoy.
There are number of options close by incuding the restored 4 star art-deco Midland Hotel.
Morecambe Bay is a large estuary just south of the Lake District National Park. It is the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the UK.
Dogs are banned from the beach from the start of May to the end of September. They are however allowed on the promenade but must be kept on leads.
