Welcome to my blog on British beaches. When I am not working, I spend my down time visiting and exploring some of Britain's finest beaches.

The pebble beach at Cuckmere Haven near Seaford is next to the famous white chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters to the East. The beach has been used for many films including Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood Price of Thieves and Harry Potter and the goblet of fire.
Also known as the Cuckmere estuary, it is an area of flood plains where the river Cuckmere meets the English channel. It is a popular choice for anglers with the river mouth providing an abundance of fish and local wildlife.
At low tide the remains of the German sailing ship Polynesia is exposed which ran aground in April 1890.
There are a number of local hotel and self catering options. We recommend the Salt marsh and Deans Place Hotel.
We suggest Ollivers Restaurant and The Grumpy Chef.
It is worth visiting the seven sister’s country park and Cupani gardens. Other beaches nearby include Seaford Bay and Newhaven.
