Broadsands beach is a red-sandy beach located on South Devon’s English Riviera coast and is an excellent choice for those looking for a quieter day out, away from amusement arcades.
It is a great beach for both sandcaslte building and rock pooling and is generally safe for water sports including sailing, swimming and kayaking, however these is no lifeguard service.
The beach shelves gently into the calm water, making it generally safe for kayaking, paddleboarding, paddling, sailing, and swimming, although at high tide the water comes up almost as far as the wall and there is no lifeguard service.
Dogs on leads can also be exercised on the grass area, although they are not permitted on the beach between May and September.
There is a large pay and display car park, and bus number 12 also stops close by. The car park leads directly to the promenade area which includes colourful beach huts and two cafes as well as picnic site.
There are disabled toilet facilities and beach wheelchair are available to hire for the day along with unisex toilets at a cost of 30p as of 2021.
