Bournemouth is a coastal resort town on the south coast of England. With Poole to the west and Christchurch in the east, Bournemouth is part of the South East Dorset conurbation.
Bournemouth boasts seven miles of sandy beaches. The stretch of coastline is an unbroken chain of fantastic beaches from Sandbanks to Christchurch harbour.
There are a number of fantastic beaches in Bournemouth and below are just a few we recommend.
The beach stretches either side of Boscombe Pier, which is free to enter and has fantastic views across Poole Bay, as well as eco-friendly mini golf and kiosks.
Southbourne Beach is one of Bournemouth's favourite Blue Flag award winning beaches, particularly loved by the locals for its wide, exceptionally clean, sandy and shingle beaches situated further to the West of Bournemouth, away from the hustle and bustle of Bournemouth Pier and the town centre.
Durley Chine beach is a Blue Flag beach in Bournemouth. It is to the west of Bournemouth Town Centre, north of West Cliff, and east of Westbourne.
Hengistbury Head beach is a relatively unspoilt and south-facing pebble beach, with imposing clay and ironstone cliffs.
There is a huge range of both national and independent retailers in Bournemouth for those who enjoy shopping and great pubs and restaurants to find something exciting to eat.
There are plenty of accommodation options at Bournemouth including great hotels to stay at as well as bed and breakfast and self catering options
There are a number of seafront public toilets in Bournemouth run by the local council
The cheapest parking in Bournemouth is Winter Gardens.

As well as stunning views across the bay, framed by the Isle of Wight on one side and the Purbeck hills on the other, Bournemouth Pier also boasts a wide and varied selection of attractions, entertainments and retail outlets to make any visit to Bournemouth memorable.

To stay safe at Bournemouth beach, always swim at a lifeguarded beach between the red and yellow flags and never swim alone.
Bournemouth is pretty safe after dark according to Numbeo. They give the area a moderate rating for safety when walking alone during night.
Bournemouth has five Blue Flag beaches - Alum Chine beach, Durley Chine beach, Fisherman's Walk beach, Manor Steps beach and Southbourne beach.
